Consolidated Account Statement (CAS)

A Consolidated Account Statement brings together everything you hold in electronic form — securities across your demat accounts with both depositories, plus your mutual fund investments — into one statement, linked by your PAN.

What it contains

  • Demat holdings across your accounts with NSDL and CDSL, with ISIN, quantity and valuation.
  • Transactions in the period — purchases, sales, corporate action credits, transfers in and out.
  • Mutual fund holdings held against the same PAN, including units held in statement-of-account form.
  • Valuation of the portfolio as at the statement date.
  • Your demat account details — DP name, DP ID, Client ID and the registered contact details on record.

That last item is worth reading each time. The CAS is where you are most likely to notice that the mobile number or email a depository holds for you is out of date — which matters, because that is where TPIN OTPs and statements are sent.

Who issues it and how often

How to read it

  • Start with the transactions, not the holdings. The holdings tell you where you ended up; the transactions tell you how — and that is where an unexpected movement shows.
  • Check every debit. A credit you did not expect is usually a bonus, split or other corporate action. A debit you did not expect is the one to act on.
  • Match ISINs, not names. Company names change; the ISIN does not. Two similar-sounding lines can be different securities.
  • Confirm your contact details printed on the statement are current.
  • Valuation is indicative. It is struck on a particular date at a particular price and is not a realisable value.

If you have not received it

  • Check the email registered with your demat account — it is not necessarily the one on your trading account.
  • Check spam and promotions folders; the statement arrives as a password-protected attachment from the depository.
  • Confirm your PAN is updated and identical across all your accounts — consolidation is keyed on PAN.
  • Ask ATS to confirm the email and mobile held against your demat account, and update them if needed.
  • You can also download statements directly from the depository portals once registered.

To update your registered details, write to dp@adityatrading.com or raise a ticket.

Frequently Asked Questions

A CAS is a single statement showing all your investments held in electronic form — securities across your demat accounts with both depositories, together with your mutual fund holdings — consolidated against your PAN. It exists so you can see everything in one place instead of reconciling several statements.

It is issued by the depositories, NSDL and CDSL. Where you hold accounts with both, the depository holding the account opened earlier issues the consolidated statement. Your broker does not issue it.

Monthly where there has been a transaction in the period, and half-yearly otherwise so that a dormant account still gets a periodic statement. Mutual fund transactions are reflected on the same cycle.

The most common reasons are that your email address is not registered or is out of date with the depository, your PAN is not updated across accounts, or the statement went to spam. Check the email registered with your DEMAT account specifically — it may differ from the one on your trading account.

No. A holding statement covers one demat account and is issued by that depository through your DP. A CAS consolidates across depositories and includes mutual funds, linked by PAN.

Register your email address with your depository participant. Once registered, the statement is delivered electronically, which is faster and avoids postal loss.

Raise it immediately with your depository participant. An unfamiliar credit can be a corporate action you were not tracking, but an unfamiliar debit should be treated as urgent — contact ATS at once.

No. A CAS covers holdings in electronic form only. Physical certificates must be dematerialised before they appear.
