What are technical trading signals?

A technical trading signal distils many individual indicators into one recommendation. Instead of reading RSI, MACD and each moving average separately, this tool tallies the bullish and bearish votes across 14 signals and returns a single verdict on a five-step scale: Strong Sell → Sell → Neutral → Buy → Strong Buy.

How the verdict is built

InputBullish when…Bearish when…
Moving averages (×n)Price is above the averagePrice is below the average
RSIMomentum favours buyers (rising, >50)Momentum favours sellers (falling, <50)
MACDMACD line above its signal lineMACD line below its signal line

It is a summary, not advice

The gauge counts how many signals are bullish vs bearish. A “Strong Buy” means the large majority of indicators are aligned bullishly right now — it is a snapshot of momentum, not a recommendation to trade.

Using the signal well

Confluence: the more indicators that agree, the higher-conviction the setup — that is exactly what the gauge measures.
Trend + timing: use the overall verdict for direction, then RSI/MACD and support-resistance for entry timing.
Watch transitions: a stock moving from Sell to Neutral to Buy is often a trend turning — more useful than a static reading.
Confirm the fundamentals: pair the technical verdict with the P&L, balance sheet and shareholding pages before investing.

Signals change with price

Technical signals are momentum snapshots that shift as the stock moves. They are best for short-to-medium-term traders and should be combined with risk management.

Frequently Asked Questions

We compute a set of technical indicators — the seven moving averages, RSI and MACD — from one year of daily prices, count how many are bullish versus bearish, and map the tally to a five-step verdict from Strong Sell to Strong Buy.

No. A Strong Buy simply means most technical indicators are aligned bullishly at this moment. It is a momentum snapshot, not investment advice. Always consider the trend, fundamentals, your risk tolerance and consult a SEBI-registered adviser.

Because it is built from price-based indicators, the verdict updates as the stock’s price and momentum change — it can shift from day to day, especially around trend turns and big moves.

The summary combines momentum (RSI), trend/momentum (MACD) and trend (Simple and Exponential Moving Averages from 5 to 200 periods) into one bullish-vs-bearish tally.

Yes — dedicated pages break down the RSI, MACD and moving averages individually, and the resistance/pivots and market-depth pages add support/resistance and live order-book context. Links are in the Related section below.
