Screen Mutual Funds

A mutual fund screener lets you narrow down thousands of schemes to the handful that match your goals. Use the filters above to combine a fund house (AMC), an AMFI category, an asset class, a risk band, a star rating and a minimum return, then sort the results by 1-year, 3-year or 5-year performance.

How to use the screener

  1. Pick an asset class (Equity, Debt, Hybrid, Solution Oriented or Other) to set the broad risk level.
  2. Narrow by category (e.g. Large Cap, Liquid, ELSS) and fund house if you have a preference.
  3. Set a minimum 1Y / 3Y return and a rating threshold to keep only stronger performers.
  4. Sort by 3Y or 5Y returns — long-term consistency matters more than a single year.
  5. Open any fund to see its NAV history chart, full trailing returns and key facts.

What the columns mean

ColumnMeaning
NAVNet Asset Value — the per-unit price, published daily by the AMC.
1M / 3M / 6M / 1YAbsolute returns over the trailing period.
3Y / 5YAnnualised (CAGR) returns — the standard way to compare long-term performance.
Vol 1YOne-year volatility — how much the NAV has fluctuated (a risk proxy).
RiskA computed risk band derived from NAV volatility (not the SEBI riskometer).
RatingA 1–5 category-relative rating computed from returns and risk (not a licensed rating).

Direct vs regular plans

Prefer Direct plans where possible — they carry no distributor commission, so their expense ratio is lower and long-term returns are slightly higher than the equivalent Regular plan. Use the plan filter to compare like-for-like.

Not investment advice. Ratings and risk bands here are computed from public AMFI NAVs and are for research only — they are not the SEBI riskometer or a licensed fund rating. Past performance is not indicative of future returns. Mutual funds are subject to market risk; read all scheme documents carefully.

Frequently Asked Questions

A mutual fund screener is a tool that filters the full universe of mutual funds by criteria such as fund house, category, risk, rating and past returns, so you can shortlist funds that fit your goals instead of browsing thousands of schemes.

There is no single "best" fund. Filter by your asset class and risk appetite, then compare long-term (3Y and 5Y) returns, consistency and risk band rather than just last year’s return. Prefer direct plans for lower costs, and diversify across categories.

Returns are computed from AMFI’s official published NAVs — absolute for periods up to 1 year and annualised (CAGR) for 3 years and above. They are NAV total returns and past performance does not guarantee future results.

A direct plan is bought straight from the AMC with no distributor commission, so it has a lower expense ratio and slightly higher returns. A regular plan is bought through a distributor and includes their commission in the expense ratio.
